Correct, Claim, or Request Removal of a Business Listing
This policy explains how business owners, authorized representatives, and other concerned individuals can request corrections, claim a business listing, report inaccurate information, or request the removal of a listing or specific content from CEVEW. CEVEW reviews each request based on the information supplied, the nature of the concern, available evidence, applicable law, and its other policies.
contact@cevew.comHow Requests Are Reviewed
Submitting a request does not guarantee a particular outcome. CEVEW assesses each request according to the information supplied, the nature of the concern, available evidence, applicable law, and relevant policies. If only some details are inaccurate, a correction may be more appropriate than full removal.

01 What Requests Can You Submit?
People may contact CEVEW to request:
- Correction of an incorrect business name, address, telephone number, website, category, or description.
- A claim or ownership review for a business listing.
- Removal of a duplicate listing.
- Removal of a listing for a business that has closed or is no longer operating, where appropriate.
- Removal or correction of outdated or misleading information.
- Review of a listing that appears to impersonate a business or use its identity without authorization.
- Removal or correction of content that may violate privacy, intellectual property rights, applicable law, or CEVEW policies.
- Removal of a listing where the requester has a legitimate basis for the request.
The appropriate action depends on the circumstances. A correction may be more suitable than complete removal when only some details are inaccurate.
02 Who Can Submit a Request?
Requests may be submitted by:
- The business owner.
- An authorized business representative.
- A person responsible for managing the business's public information.
- A person whose personal information appears in a listing and who has a legitimate privacy concern.
- A representative authorized to raise an intellectual property or legal concern.
- Another person with a reasonable and relevant concern about the listing.
CEVEW may ask for reasonable information to confirm the requester's identity, authority, or connection to the issue. Not every requester is entitled to control or remove a business listing.
03 How to Request a Correction
The process in simple steps:
- Identify the business listing on CEVEW.
- Copy the listing's full URL.
- Clearly describe the incorrect or outdated information.
- Provide the corrected information.
- Explain the basis for the requested change.
- Send the request to contact@cevew.com.
- Respond to any reasonable follow-up questions from CEVEW.
CEVEW may review the request and supporting information before changing a listing. A correction request should identify the specific details that need to be changed. General statements without enough information may require clarification.
04 How to Claim a Business Listing
A business owner or authorized representative may request recognition as the person authorized to manage or represent a listed business. The requester should email contact@cevew.com with:
- The full URL of the business listing.
- The business's name.
- Their name and business role.
- A business email address or other appropriate contact details.
- A short explanation of their relationship to the business.
- Reasonable supporting information if CEVEW needs to verify the request.
CEVEW may request additional evidence when ownership or authority is unclear. For privacy and security, please do not send passwords, payment card details, or unnecessary sensitive identity documents.
Claiming vs. correcting vs. removing. Claiming a listing and correcting its details are different from requesting its removal. A self-service claiming dashboard, account transfer system, or instant ownership verification should not be assumed to exist unless such a feature is available on the website.
05 How to Request Listing Removal
A business owner or authorized representative may request the removal of a listing by emailing contact@cevew.com. The request should include:
- The full URL of the listing.
- The business name.
- The requester's name and role.
- A clear statement that removal is being requested.
- A brief reason for the request.
- Reasonable evidence of authority or the basis for removal, if needed.
CEVEW may ask follow-up questions to establish that the request is genuine and authorized. CEVEW may approve removal, request clarification, propose a correction instead, or decline the request when there is a reasonable basis to retain or review the listing, subject to applicable law and relevant policies. Automatic removal should not be assumed simply because a request has been submitted.
06 Information to Include in Your Email
A concise checklist helps CEVEW assess a request:
- Request type: correction, claim, duplicate listing, privacy concern, or removal.
- Business name.
- Full CEVEW listing URL.
- Requester's name and role or relationship to the business.
- A clear description of the concern.
- Exact corrections requested, if applicable.
- Relevant supporting links or documents, where appropriate.
- A reply-to email address for follow-up.
Provide only information relevant to the issue and avoid unnecessary sensitive personal data. The information needed may depend on the request.
07 Request Review and Verification
CEVEW may review requests for completeness, relevance, authenticity, and consistency with available listing information. Depending on the request, CEVEW may:
- Update the requested information.
- Request clarification or supporting evidence.
- Review whether a listing is a duplicate.
- Ask the business or requester to clarify a disputed fact.
- Remove or restrict content where appropriate.
- Decline a request when the available information does not support the requested action.
The amount of review needed may vary. A fixed response time is not guaranteed, and not every request receives the same investigation. CEVEW may take appropriate action without waiting for additional information when required for legal, privacy, safety, or operational reasons.
08 Duplicate Listings
A requester may report multiple listings representing the same business. The report should include the URLs of the suspected duplicates and identify which listing, if any, appears to contain the most accurate information.
CEVEW may review whether the entries represent the same business, legitimate branches, separate locations, franchises, or distinct business entities. Where appropriate, CEVEW may correct, consolidate, unpublish, or remove duplicate entries. A shared address or phone number alone does not necessarily prove that two listings are duplicates.
09 Incorrect, Misleading, or Impersonating Content
CEVEW accepts reports about listings that appear to contain fabricated details, impersonate a business, misrepresent an affiliation, or make materially misleading claims. A report should identify the listing, explain the concern, and provide relevant supporting information when available.
CEVEW may review the available information and request clarification. A report alone does not automatically establish that the content is false or unlawful. Where appropriate, CEVEW may correct, restrict, or remove content that violates its policies or applicable law.
10 Privacy and Personal Information Requests
People may contact CEVEW if a listing contains personal information that is inaccurate, unnecessary, exposed without appropriate authority, or otherwise raises a legitimate privacy concern. The requester should identify the relevant URL and describe the specific information at issue.
CEVEW may assess the request under its Privacy Policy, applicable legal requirements, and the circumstances of the case. Removal of all information connected to a business should not be assumed simply because a privacy request has been submitted. The appropriate response depends on the nature of the information and the applicable requirements.
11 Intellectual Property Complaints
People or organizations may contact CEVEW regarding content they believe infringes their copyright, trademark, or other applicable rights. A complaint should identify the material at issue, provide the relevant listing URL, explain the right or interest involved, and include appropriate supporting information.
CEVEW may request further details and assess the complaint under applicable law and its internal procedures. Automatic removal of all disputed content should not be assumed, and a complaint alone does not establish infringement. A formal legal notice procedure or designated legal contact should not be assumed unless one has been established.
12 What Happens After a Request?
Possible outcomes include:
- The requested correction is accepted and the listing is updated.
- A listing claim is reviewed and additional information is requested.
- A duplicate listing is corrected, consolidated, or removed.
- A removal request is accepted.
- The request requires clarification or supporting information.
- The request is declined because the available information does not support the requested action.
Where appropriate and practical, CEVEW may communicate the outcome through the email conversation used for the request. A specific notification process or response deadline should not be assumed.
13 Urgent Legal, Privacy, or Safety Concerns
Requests involving exposed personal information, suspected fraud, impersonation, unlawful material, or other serious concerns should clearly identify the issue in the email subject and body. CEVEW may prioritize concerns that appear urgent or present a significant risk.
For immediate threats or emergencies, contact the appropriate local authorities or relevant service. CEVEW does not provide emergency response services or legal representation.
14 Search Engines and Third-Party Copies
Removing or correcting information on CEVEW does not automatically remove copies from external search engines, web archives, social networks, data aggregators, or other websites. Third-party services control their own indexing, caches, and copies of content.
Users may need to submit separate requests to those services. CEVEW may not control how quickly external search engines update their results. De-indexing, cache removal, or deletion from websites outside CEVEW's control should not be assumed.
15 Preventing Fraudulent Requests
CEVEW may take reasonable steps to assess whether a request is genuine and authorized. Relevant confirmation may be requested before making significant changes to a listing or removing it, especially when ownership is disputed.
A requester must not submit false information, impersonate a business owner, make knowingly false complaints, or attempt to disrupt a legitimate business through abusive requests. CEVEW may decline or restrict requests that appear fraudulent, abusive, or unsupported, subject to applicable law.
16 No Guarantee of a Particular Outcome
Every request is assessed according to its circumstances, available information, applicable law, and relevant CEVEW policies. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, immediate action, removal of a listing, or deletion of information from third-party services.
CEVEW aims to assess legitimate requests fairly and may ask for additional information where needed.
17 Relationship With Other Policies
This policy should be read alongside the CEVEW Business Listing Policy, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Disclaimer, where those pages are available.
If a specific legal requirement or another applicable policy addresses an issue differently, the relevant terms and applicable law may govern the situation.
18 Changes to This Policy
CEVEW may revise this policy as its procedures, directory features, or legal obligations change. Visitors should consult the current version published on this page.
Any material change requiring notice or consent under applicable law will follow the appropriate process. Effective dates, last-updated dates, and scheduled revision dates should not be assumed.
